Byron joined Gregory, Sharer & Stuart in 1999 and became a shareholder in 2001. He is the leader of our Wealth Strategies & Services Team and also serves as a management member of the GSS tax accounting practice. His areas of concentration include planning for wealth accumulation and preservation, tax and accounting issues regarding estates and trusts, and business valuations.

Prior to joining GSS, Byron worked for another local CPA firm in the Tampa Bay area. He has developed extensive knowledge in charitable giving and the business succession planning process for closely-held businesses. In addition, Byron has been actively involved in comprehensive income tax planning for individuals, S corporations, controlled groups and partnerships in retail, manufacturing, agricultural, and various service industries and client representation before the Internal Revenue Service. Since becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Byron has written articles for The Tax Advisor and taught numerous courses and seminars within his profession and for the general public in estate planning techniques, tax law changes and unique planning opportunities.


Byron graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.


Byron is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Florida. Through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, he holds both the Personal Financial Specialist certification and the Accredited in Business Valuations certification.

Professional Affiliations

Byron is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and previously served on the tax committee of the West Coast Chapter of the FICPA. He is actively involved with the Tampa Bay and Suncoast Estate Planning Councils, serving as president of both.

Community and Civic Organizations Served

He is currently involved with the Salvation Army as Chairperson of the Planned Giving and Bequest and Endowment Committee as well as an Advisory Board Member, the Tampa Bay Research Institute as Chairperson of Planned Gifts, Pinellas Education Foundation and Pinellas Community Foundation. He has served on many other community organizations over the years.
