Thomas Gregory

Tom, with the other named individuals, formed Gregory, Sharer & Stuart in 1984 after working as a partner in local and national CPA firms. Tom serves as the designated partner responsible for continuing professional education and is a member of the firm's Financial Services and Not-For-Profit Industry Service Teams.

Tom has served a wide variety of clients throughout his career with emphasis on management and advisory services. His past experience includes service to not-for-profit entities, other governmental entities, automobile dealers, manufacturing organizations, the funeral service industry and other service organizations.

Education

He received his bachelor's degree from Florida State University.


Certifications

Tom is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of Florida and Louisiana. Tom also holds Series 7, Series 66 and Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses. In 2008, he received his Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Tom is a Retirement Planning Specialist with AXA Advisors, LLC and holds a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Professional Affiliations

Tom is a member of the Florida and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Finance Officers Association. He is a past Chairperson of the Ethics Committee of the Florida Institute of CPAs, as well as a past Chairperson of the State of Florida's Commission on Ethics.


Community and Civic Organizations Served

Tom is a member of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is a past Board Member and Secretary of All Children's Hospital, Inc. He is a former board member of the St. Petersburg College Development Foundation, and is past Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of St. Petersburg Junior College. St. Pete College has honored Tom's dedication by naming a building at the St. Pete-Gibbs campus the Thomas H. Gregory Ethics Building.

Tom is a past President of Suncoasters, Inc. He is also a current member and past President of the St. Petersburg Rotary Club and a member and past Chairperson of the Salvation Army, St. Petersburg Corps and a member of St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership. Tom is currently active at Christ United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg.
