Carlos Vila joined GSS in 1996, became a shareholder in 2005 and serves as a member of the firm’s Insurance Industry Service Team. Carlos provides audit and consulting services for insurance, manufacturing, food distribution, construction, real estate, and other service companies, both publicly and privately held. Carlos’ experience also includes providing support services to insurance companies on fidelity and business interruption claims.
Prior to joining GSS, Carlos held financial and executive positions with insurance companies, agencies, and self-insurance funds, among other insurance-related entities. Carlos worked within a national firm and also founded and managed a successful accounting firm in Puerto Rico. Additionally, he has served as a member of boards of directors of insurance companies, general agencies, and other related entities.
Education
Carlos received his BS degree from Boston College in 1972.
Professional Affiliations
Carlos is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in both Florida and Puerto Rico, and is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Puerto Rico Society of CPAs. Carlos serves as president of the West Central Florida Chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association, Inc. (IASA) and also serves as President of the West Coast Chapter of the FICPA.
