Dick joined Gregory, Sharer & Stuart as a shareholder when the firm of McKelvey, Ulrich & Gassner merged with GSS in 1993. Dick has developed a broad base of closely-held businesses and individual clientele. His diversified practice extends from tax to assurance services primarily for property and casualty insurance companies and related insurance agencies and administrators, employee leasing, medical malpractice, and other financial services.

Dick has also provided support services to attorneys and government authorities in business damage analysis and valuation and is qualified as an expert witness in multiple Florida counties and US District Court. Dick's earlier career experience includes assurance services with a national CPA firm and the USAF Auditor General.

Education

Dick received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Duke University.

Certifications

He has SEC Series 7 and Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance licenses. Additionally, he has held a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation as a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Professional Affiliations

He is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He received the FICPA Presidential Service Award as 1998-99 President of the Florida CPA/PAC, and has served for 12 years on the Board of Trustees of the FICPA Educational Foundation. Additionally, he is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and the Association of Eminent Domain Professionals. Service to the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants includes past chairperson and a 10-year appointment to the Committee on Finance and Office Advisory.

Community and Civic Organizations Served

He has served as president, treasurer and member of the board of directors of the Suncoasters, Inc. and Festival of States organizations. Other activities include past service as board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Young Women's Residence and First United Methodist Church and treasurer for various charitable, social and political organizations. He is presently serving on the board of trustees of the Tampa Bay Research Institute.
